GIORGIO LI CALZI
+
ALEKSANDR NEVSKIJ |
New score to "Aleksandr Nevskij", a
masterpiece of soviet cinema, directed by Sergej Ejzenštejn in
1938.
Music composed and produced by Giorgio Li Calzi (trumpet, vocoder
and electronics) on a new editing of this movie (55'), cut by himself
together with Kinoetika (Torino).
About the video cut, Giorgio chose principally the epic and
geometrical-constructivist scenes of the battle and the battle array.
Obviously this work doesn't aim to compare with the work of Prokof'ev,
who wrote the original music for the movie: it's simply a tribute to the
people who resisted the foreign oppressors and chased them away through
the eternal metaphor of Aleksandr Nevskij, the prince who in year 1240
led the Russian army to resist the Teutonic invasors. |

selection of bonpo ritual chants and music, recorded live inside the

purification, the CD also includes a rare invocation of Yeshe Walmo, the
entity who protects bonpo teaching, as well as what is the real treasure
of this collection the collective recitation of the self-sacrificial
chö rite, according to bonpo spiritual tradition. |

MILAGRO ACUSTICO
"Siqiliah
- Terra d'Islam" |
Milagro
Acustico
are still tripping in the most flourishing period of mediaeval Sicily,
in the “Garden Isle” where Arab poets and travellers lived during and
after the Islamic dominance of the Mediterranean sea. Poetry,
Music and travel-tales mix up in a suggestive mixture of a Middle East
flavour, enriched by the sounds of the Mediterranean musical instruments
like Baglama, Ney, Tambur, Daf, Darbuka, Santur, Kanun, etc. Milagro
Acustico resurrect the less-known historic pages of Sicilian
Islamic tradition, searching for the common rules that have made the
island an example of tolerance and co-existence of different cultures
and religions throughout centuries. |

ROBERTA ALLOISIO & ORCHESTRA BAILAM
"Lengua serpentina" |
“Lengua
Serpentina” is the first solo album by Roberta Alloisio whit
“Orchestra Bailam”.
Our purpose was to create a new authentic product, rooted in the
traditions but open to spirit of our time.
It seems a good thing to have an ideal dialogue whit all that cultures
got in touch with Genoa from age to age, more than ever an actual
comparison thanks to the continuous presence in the city of many
different stranger communities, that create a new language, a new kind
of relationship with the people, the story, the culture of the city. |
 |

SOS
"Cammenann' " |
Original pieces of Mediterranean sound and Neapolitan lyrics, where
examples and contaminations melt down to create a half-cast and
“strange” rock…
They finally get to a very personal way in music, joining “pomiglianese”
and Neapolitan cultures including Egyptian, Nigerian, Senegalese and
Algerian sounds.
Something there wasn’t and made possible with a styles, races, cultures
and traditions melting pot.
Finally, searched out by CNI Music from “myspace.com”, the band starts a
new adventure named “Cammenann”, a full length album of 11 original
tracks and 1 on iTunes.
For all the fans of the genre: the Neapolitan Sound is back!!!! |

LUCIO DAMASCELLI
"Il pieno e il vuoto" |
Following "Equilibrio Instabile"
(2005), the new album by Lucio Damascelli, Il Pieno e il Vuoto (The Full
and the Empty), features 13 new compositions for solo guitar.
As in the first album, many tracks are influenced by ancient and classical music, other by
acoustic blues music, reminding a minimal attitude with ambient, progressive, jazz,
gothic, ethnical
. influences. The mood and the inspirations in this album are
similar to the ones of the first release, and create dreamy atmospheres, but even if the
music is completely acoustic in spirit, a moderate use of effects and electronics
completes the new project. |
 |

LUCIO DAMASCELLI
"Equilibrio instabile" |
The album Equilibrio Instabile
(Unstable Equilibrium) (2005) features 14 original compositions for guitar
solo performance, which could be defined as songs without words for its dreamy
melodic licks and mood.
The compositions structures stand between (ancient and) classical and blues music,
flavoured with jazz and rock influences. |

KLEZROYM
"25 aprile -
Live in Fossoli" |
In Fossoli still now are visible traces of the Transit and Police Camp (Polizei- und
Durchgangslager). It was utilised by the SS as antechamber of the Nazi-Lager.
Klezroym were invited by Associazione Ex-Campo Fossoli to celebrate in a so particular
place the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi-Fascism.
Klezroym contribute with their music to honorate the memory of a so important event for
our Nations history, and to reassert the importance od these irremissible values
like freedom, democracy and brotherhood between different people. This cd contains the
live recording of that unforgettable concert, for us the best way to celebrate Kleroyms
Ten Year of music career. |
 |

GABRIELE
COEN
ATLANTE SONORO
"Alhambra" |
Gabriele Coen is one of the
founders of Klezroym, one of the best Klezmer bands. This is his second solo
album; it follows the path traced by the first cd "Duende, together with the Atlante
Sonoro project. Always featuring Pietro Lussu on piano, Marco
Loddo on bass and Luca Caponi on drums, Gabriele Coen (sopran
and tenor sax and clarinet) is exploring these fascinating places, full with humanity,
border lands, moving towards sun landscapes of mediterranean music and contemporary jazz.
The cd hosts also Lutte Berg on guitar, playing on two different tracks. The different
pages of this Atlante Sonoro are Hebraic music from East Europe (Belz) and from
Mediterranean (Los Bilbilicos), the consolidated European jazz tradition (Roma ad agosto,
Auteyrac, Lake Song, Piccolo Tango), the sound arabescs of Alhambra, etc

ALIBIA
"Tra tutto e niente" |
Aliběa began their career in
2004 with the release of "Confini", an album that was warmly received
by the Italian press, and following their notable success during the more important
Italian Festivals for new artists (Arezzo Wave, Rock Targato Italia, Sonica, Tendenze,
Feedback). In addition "Musica" di Repubblica (the best of the national
music magazines) labelled them as the best young band of 2003 and as the most
representative band of the Arezzo Wave Music Festival.
Aliběa are the authors of a refined Indye-pop genre, that combines piano, electric
guitars, electronic, synthetic and minimal sounds, with two different souls and voices
(male and female). The year 2006 is witness to the release of their second
album "Tra Tutto E Niente", produced by Giacomo Fiorenza (one of Italy's
top rock producers) from the Alpha Dept in Bologna. The album will be
released in Italy in the spring of 2006 |

VITO
RANUCCI & MUSICISTI DI NAPOLI-EST
"Il giardino delle delizie" |
Vito Ranucci is a very important arranger, composer and saxophone player; after a
lot of concerts all over the Europe (i.e.: Progressive Night together with Jethro Tull
and PFM at Neapolis Rock Festival) and some productions published by Harmonia Mundi
and Lempreinte digitale, he meets some great musicians by Napoli Est and
creates this new work entitled "Il giardino delle delizie". |
 |
REMO ANZOVINO
"Dispari" |
Remo Anzovinos music goes fast. You need to be quick to catch it,
to know it. It goes through the years with an infectious dance step. It starts from the
images by Nanuk the eskimo (a movie by the Canadian Robert Flaherty, 1920) and moves
itself through the history very fast, from the German Expressionism to the movie stories
by Pabst and Murnau, from the tragedies by Louis Brook to the dragging photo passions by
Tina Modotti, touching the cornerstones of our contemporary sensibility. Cinema is
probably only a pretext to play, write music and modern songs. |
